Speaker tells women: get out of your way
SYCAMORE – Women will learn to stop standing in their own way at the Kishwaukee Women’s Network luncheon on Thursday, April 17.
Professional speaker, consultant and author Kelly Standing will share entertaining stories and lessons to help women see that they can succeed if they keep an open mind and don’t discount the wonky, weird and unconventional – to a point.
Sycamore chamber executive director Rose Treml said “this is a great topic that everyone can benefit from regardless of your product or service.”
“Women play a fundamentally important role in creating healthy communities. The increasing presence of women entrepreneurs and women business leaders recently leaves no doubt about their impact on our economy,” Treml said. “I believe as a chamber we can be instrumental in advancing women’s economic opportunities, and that is why we created KWN over 10 years ago.”
The luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 17 in the Freight Room at the DeKalb County Community Foundation in Sycamore. KWN is a network of more than 100 businesswomen who meet monthly to network.
The fee for the luncheon and program is $15. Area chamber members are always welcome. Reservations are required by calling the Sycamore Chamber at 815-895-3456.
