Student works performed in concert

DeKALB – The Northern Illinois University School of Music will present a concert of music by NIU student composers at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, in the Music Building Recital Hall. 

This diverse program will feature music for pipa, piano, winds, brass, strings and percussion, by undergraduate student composers M.J. Halco, Kyle Krause, Tyler Madden, and Gregory Trail, and by graduate student composers Vikas Deo and Hong Hong Hui. Most works heard on the program will be receiving their first public performance. School of Music faculty member David Maki will join nearly two dozen student performers.

The Music Building is located at 500 Lucinda Ave., on the NIU campus, and is accessible to all. The public is invited, and admission is free. For more information, contact Dr. Robert Fleisher at 815-753-0642.
