The Russell Hustle 5k/2k run and trail walk to support St. Mary's School in Sycamore will take place April 12.

GENOA – St. Mary’s Catholic School in Sycamore will host the third annual Russell Hustle Trail Run on Saturday, April 12, in scenic Russell Woods in Genoa.

The Russell Hustle winds through native growth timber on wide trails and single track, as well as on a prairie trail along the Kishwaukee River. The 2K Run/Walk also travels through the woods on the main lane; the path is flat and even and is appropriate for a variety of ages and abilities. The 5K Race begins at 9 a.m. and the 2K begins at 10 a.m.

Participants are encouraged to register online by March 31. Early packet pickup will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 11 at St. Mary’s School. Day-of registration takes place from 7:30-8:30 a.m.

"Funds raised from the event go towards scholarship funding for families, helping the school keep Catholic education affordable and accessible for all children in our community," St. Mary's Principal Ross Bubolz said.

Registration is open and can be accessed at www.stmarysycamore.org or www.signmeup.com. The registration fee for the 5K prior to the March 31 deadline is $25 and the fee for the 2K Run/Walk is $10.  The event will run, rain or shine.
