HINCKLEY – People who have been wondering about the blacked-out windows at 100 E. Lincoln Highway in Hinckley will soon see the mystery solved – South Moon BBQ expects to open an expansion in early March.
The new location, about 50 feet west of South Moon’s current location at 146 E. Lincoln Ave., will seat at least 75 and will offer an expanded menu. In addition to the ribs, pulled pork and brisket South Moon is known for, the new menu will include vegetarian options like smoked portabella mushrooms, plus smoked burgers, chicken and pork chops. The new location is expected to add craft beer, local wine and craft liquor to its offerings soon after opening.
There will be a catering consultation area, and on-site birthday packages for any size group, including barbecue, cake and a character visit.
South Moon is hiring at both its current and expanded locations. There are full and part-time positions available with flex hours. Stop in or visit www.southmoonbbq.com to apply.
The restaurant plans to continue its support of local communities through pork chop and pulled pork dinner fundraisers, shop-n-shares and donations. South Moon will also establish a scholarship fund beginning with this year’s graduating classes of Hinckley-Big Rock and Genoa-Kingston high schools. There will be one $500 scholarship offered at each school. Specific details and award guidelines will be finalized in April.
