SYCAMORE – NB&T and its holding company, NI Bancshares Corporation, are pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Suter and Kevin Poorten to its board of directors. Suter is president and CEO of The Suter Company, Inc. Poorten is president and CEO of KishHealth System.

As a third-generation CEO, Suter has guided The Suter Company through dynamic changes, resulting in an innovative organization that has succeeded for nearly 90 years in the highly competitive food industry. The company’s success is built on long-term relationships with its customers, employees, suppliers and community. The Suter Company has received multiple awards in recognition of its contribution to the local community and the education of their employees.
Suter serves on the board of directors as president of the DeKalb County Community Foundation, and as an adviser to the DeKalb County-based Youth Engaged in Philanthropy. He speaks regularly to organizations around DeKalb County, primarily drawing on lessons from the leadership training and development program he founded called A Leader’s Voyage.
Poorten has served as president and CEO of KishHealth System since the fall of 2002. He has more than 30 years of health care administration experience. Before joining Kish, he served as a regional vice president for Province Healthcare in Nashville and held numerous senior level positions with Samaritan Health System in Arizona, including CEO of Havasu Regional Medical Center.
Poorten is chair of the Illinois Hospital Association Board of Trustees. He also serves as chair of the IHA Transforming Illinois Health Care Task Force. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on numerous community boards, including the DeKalb County Economic Development Corporation, Opportunity House, Live Healthy DeKalb, Partners in Education, and Sycamore Park Task Force.
