DeKALB – Northern Illinois University Athletics introduces a new way for fans to enjoy Huskie men’s and women’s basketball games, “The Nelson Club at NIU,” featuring enhanced food and beverage options and the opportunity to interact with special guests.
Located in the Nelson Suites at the top of the seating areas and featuring a great view of the court below as well as television monitors, the Nelson Club at NIU had its grand opening on Sunday, Feb. 9 during the Huskie basketball doubleheader.
Seats in the Nelson Club at NIU will be sold in advance only for $26 (men’s games) and $24 (women’s games). Call 815-753-1923 during regular business hours to purchase tickets. The ticket includes full access to the buffet and the cash bar throughout the game, as well as a seat in the Nelson Club area.
In addition, courtside ticket holders and donors to the Huskie Athletics Scholarship Fund (HASF) at the $1,000 level and above who are also basketball season ticket holders can purchase tickets to the buffet only for $16 per person.
During each Nelson Club game, a line-up of special guests, such as NIU Associate Vice-President and Director of Athletics Sean Frazier, will join fans in the suite prior to and during the game.
The Nelson Club at NIU will be open for the Feb. 20 men’s game against Eastern Michigan (reserve by Feb. 14), the Feb. 22 women’s game against Central Michigan (reserve by Feb. 17), the Feb. 26 men’s game against Toledo (reserve by Feb. 21) and the March 8 men’s game against Ball State (reserve by March 5).
