Feed’em Soup, Kish College team up for cooking classes
Feed’em Soup is partnering with Kishwaukee College to bring three unique culinary classes to downtown DeKalb this spring.
Feed’em Soup Chef Alex Smith, who received training at the Culinary School at the Illinois Art Institute in Chicago, will give personal culinary instruction in the kitchen at 122 S. First St. in DeKalb. Classes offered this spring include:
Culinary Arts With Chef Smith: So you can cook a few things, but you have always wanted to get some of those foundational skills such as making sauces, knife skills and proper use of produce and proteins. Learn to prepare foods that will impress friends and family. Smith will tailor classes to take advantage of seasonal dishes inspired by ingredients readily available and at their peak. Attendees should wear closed-toe shoes for safety; bring an apron and a favorite kitchen knife. Must be at least age 16. Cost includes $25 for supplies.
