Public input sought on new parks director

Published: Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 9:47 a.m. CST

DeKALB – The DeKalb Park District Board has begun its search for a new executive director. The district has retained the services of Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, Ltd., a search firm that specializes in assisting boards with identifying and selecting park district executives.

An important part of the process is to identify characteristics the district wants in the new executive director. Community input is essential in identifying these characteristics through a community forum conducted by a representative from the search firm.

The park district invites the public to the community forum, scheduled at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, in the Hopkins Park Terrace Room. A Leadership Profile Assessment form has been posted to the Park District website, www.dekalbparkdistrict.com, to complete and bring to the community forum. If you are unable to attend, you can still use the online survey to provide your input.
