Christmas tree collection begins Dec. 30

DeKALB – Refuse collection in the city of DeKalb will be delayed one day during the week of Christmas and the week of New Year’s Day. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday collections will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Waste Management will collect Christmas trees placed on the parkway in DeKalb the weeks of Dec. 30 and Jan. 6. Christmas trees must have all decorations removed. Christmas trees in plastic bags will not be collected.

Landscape waste containers will be available for Christmas tree disposal Monday, Dec. 30 through Friday, Jan. 10 at the following locations:

• The southeast corner of North Seventh and Oak Streets

• Fire Station 2 – 1154 S. Seventh St.

• City Garden Plots by Fire Station 3 – 950 W. Dresser Road
