Network of Nations new van helps local internationals

Network of Nations Inc.'s dream of a 15-seat passenger van has become a reality thanks to the generosity of private donors, a $ 3,500 grant from DeKalb County Community Foundation, and the help of Brian Bemis Auto Group in DeKalb.

Network of Nations is a nonprofit organization that serves to link approximately 1,300 Northern Illinois University and community internationals with one another, and with volunteers from the community and local churches.

“For some time, we have been operating with approximately 50 volunteers who were using their own private vehicles to transport and meet the needs of our internationals – for things like airport pickup, our weekly café, furniture delivery, events and much more," Network of Nations Director Ruth O’Donnell said in a news release. "This van will allow us to provide hospitality and goodwill to our internationals and their families in a way that we could not before. We are so grateful to all who partnered with us to achieve this major goal.”

For more information on the organization, visit www.networkofnations.org or call 815-895-3116, ext. 205.
