Big Brothers Big Sisters of DeKalb County was recently awarded a $5,000 grant from the Comcast Foundation in support of its after-school mentoring program. The BBBS After School Mentoring program gives volunteers from the local high school the chance to give back to younger children who may have experienced the same hardships they did during their childhood, and gives both elementary and high school students a place to belong after school. Comcast Representative Joe Bertrand, left, presents the grant to Big Brothers Big Sisters director Courtney Denison.
