Benefit dinner for Dorwaldt family

A spaghetti dinner benefit for Greg Dorwaldt of DeKalb will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Sycamore United Methodist Church, 160 Johnson Ave. in Sycamore. An auction will start at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $10 per person and can be purchased in advance or at the door.Gregory Dorwaldt was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer on Oct. 23, 2013. The cancer is rapidly progressing. His wife, Phyllis Dorwaldt (Talley-Garcia) is staying by his side. Greg and Phyllis reside in DeKalb. He is a loving father and grandfather, and has been a dedicated truck driver for many years. He has one son, Tony Dorwaldt (Kristin Schwarz) of Rochelle, and stepson, Justin Talley (Michelle) of Sycamore. Greg and Phyllis are spending this time together unable to work and need support of family, friends and the community.
