The Sycamore Fire Department visited North Grove Elementary School in Sycamore to teach the students about safety measures. The students learned about firefighting equipment and vehicles, as well as fire prevention. The fire department chose the artwork created by fourth-grader Caylee Sharkey and fifth-grader Vani Subramony as the winners of this year's poster contest. Caylee and Vani had breakfast with the firemen, and were then taken to school in the fire truck. Pictured from left are firefighter Jim Ward, Caylee Sharkey, Principal Ryan Janisch, Vani Subramony and firefighter Ian Wheeler.
