Soccer kicked around at brown bag program
SYCAMORE – Saturday morning soccer is a long tradition in Sycamore. Discover why AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) started 50 years ago, how it came to Sycamore, and the role it plays in the community today during the Sycamore History Museum’s Nov. 7 Brown Bag Lunch program.
“AYSO soccer provides fun in Sycamore. Every child can play,” said Linda Liszka.
Liszka will present at the brown bag, along with Steve Saptia and Jeff and Kathy Sherman. The four will talk about their experiences with athletes, volunteer coaches and referees. This past season included almost 700 players, 65 teams, and 125 coaches and volunteers in Sycamore.
This talk will be at noon Thursday, Nov. 7 in the DeKalb County Community Foundation’s Freight Room, 475 DeKalb Ave. in Sycamore. The program is free and open to the public. Donations are welcome.
