DeKALB — Feed’em Soup is offering its specialty soups frozen by the quart or gallon for supporters and donors to enjoy at home. Soups can be purchased through the online store at feedemsoup.org.

Frozen soups are $7.99 for a quart or $29.99 for a gallon. Varieties are cream of jalapeno with bacon, Parmesan pumpkin bisque, pumpkin-apple cider stew, sausage-and-chicken gumbo, spicy pumpkin chili, and white chicken chili.

Supporters can sample the soups at the organization’s Soup-stravaganza on Friday, Oct. 18. Servings will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4:30 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $8 for lunch and $10 for dinner. The fundraiser will include a silent auction.

Soups on the menu are white chicken chili, Parmesan pumpkin bisque, pumpkin-apple cider stew and cream of jalapeno and bacon. Frozen soups will be available for purchase at the event.

The proceeds from soup sales and Soup-stravaganza will help Feed’em Soup eye additional meals in 2014 despite an economically challenging 2013 for the group. The group will launch a “pay what you can” Sunday brunch on the fourth Sunday of November and December. If the meal  is well received, FES intends to expand the service to the fourth Sunday of each month in 2014.
