DeKALB – The DeKalb Chamber of Commerce and the ATHENA Committee announced the 2013 nominees for ATHENA and Women of Accomplishment. The ATHENA Award recognizes a person for business and professional accomplishments, community service, and for serving as a role model to encourage women to reach their full leadership potential. The Women of Accomplishment Award recognizes those who embody the ATHENA criteria but who are retired or no longer working. It is a tremendous honor to be nominated.
The 2013 ATHENA Award nominees are Bridget Carlson of Castle Bank, Rorry Heide of RE/MAX Experience, Ann Lehan of Lehan Drugs, Helen Umbdenstock of Helen’s Hair Designs & Spa, Kimberly Volk of KishHealth System, and Lesly Wicks of Hope Haven.
The 2013 Women of Accomplishment nominees are Yvonne Johnson, a retired Sycamore school teacher, Laura Smart, a retired Northern Illinois University professor, and Jacquelyn Winfield, a retired DeKalb school teacher.
