Production of a healthy lifestyles video was funded in part by a 2012 Community Needs grant  from the DeKalb County Community foundation. Applications for Community Needs grants are accepted at the DeKalb County Community Foundation through Sept. 3.

SYCAMORE – The DeKalb County Community Foundation is accepting grant applications for its Community Needs Grant program through 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3. The Community Needs Grant Guidelines and Application can be downloaded from www.DeKalbCCF.org. Applicants can expect to receive notification of the DCCF’s funding decision by Nov. 1.

“We like to see grant applications that help fill a need in the community,” said Becky Zantout, grants and community initiatives manager at the foundation. “Including letters of support from community members and listing other funding sources in your grant application are great ways to demonstrate the need to our grants committee.”

Funded projects must fit in the categories of Arts & Culture, Community Development & Civic Affairs, Education, or Health & Human Services. All nonprofits registered as a 501(c)3 organization or tax-supported entities in DeKalb County are eligible to apply.

Grant applicants are encouraged to closely review the Community Needs grant guidelines when considering whether to apply to the grant program. More information about applying for a Community Needs grant can be found at www.dekalbccf.org. Grant applications should be postmarked or received at the DeKalb County Community Foundation, 475 DeKalb Ave. in Sycamore, by 5 p.m. Sept. 3.
