People who attend the Discover Sycamore Block Party can come ready to dance. There will be a DJ for most of the event, and live music at the end of the evening.

SYCAMORE – Discover Sycamore is ready to “rock the block” at its annual block party, from 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 in downtown Sycamore.

The free event offers entertainment for the whole family: kids’ games, inflatables, a DJ, contests, prizes, food vendors, a beer garden, live music and more.

The Kids’ Game Area opens at 3 p.m. with a fun fair of game booths and giveaways. Pets can get in on the fun at Huckleberry’s Pet Parlor’s Bark on the Block Bow Wow Luau, starting at 4 p.m. There will a pet luau parade and “mutt-arita canine cocktails.”

“We’re very happy to have Bark on the Block as a part of Block Party for its fourth year. Jenny Kingren and her staff at Huckleberry’s Pet Parlor have put in a lot of hard work to make this exciting for our canine friends,” Sycamore Chamber Executive Director Rose Treml said.

At 6 p.m. the Block Party DJ will keep the party going as families enjoy food from local vendors such as Giordano’s, Mudslingers, Sycamore’s Country Store & Catering and Sweet Dream Desserts and Catering.

At 8 p.m., The Party Doctors take the stage. The Party Doctors have a unique sound and an energetic stage presence. They are known for recreating the sounds of modern pop, ’80s hair metal, modern country, classic rock, and dance hits. Collectively, they bring several decades of experience and have played in many of Chicagoland’s live music venues.

“We are very excited to have The Party Doctors this year. They are a local favorite in Northern Illinois and continue to build a wide fan base,” said Treml.
