A scavenger hunt for historical and architectural details in downtown Sycamore begins on the DeKalb County courthouse lawn Aug. 15.

SYCAMORE – On Thursday, Aug. 15, the Sycamore History Museum will sponsor a scavenger hunt that challenges participants to take a closer look at buildings in the downtown area.

Start the hunt by finding a Sycamore History Museum volunteer on the courthouse lawn between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

“Sycamore is very lucky to have such a vibrant downtown area. However, when we are shopping or dining we sometimes forget to enjoy our surroundings,” said Michelle Donahoe, executive director of the museum. “Our Junior Docents created a scavenger hunt that will make people take a closer look at places they might have walked by many, many times without noticing historical or architectural details.”

There is a $5 fee per family. For more information, call 815-895-5762 or visit sycamorehistory.org.
