CORTLAND – The DeKalb County Democrats will play the DeKalb County Republicans in a charity softball game at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, to benefit the Kishwaukee United Way.

The game will be played at Suppeland Park, just off Somonauk Road in Cortland. The game is free for spectators, and there will be a 50/50 raffle to benefit the United Way.

“We love the idea of the two parties coming together to promote and support Kishwaukee United Way’s widespread community efforts in DeKalb County,” Kishwaukee United Way Executive Director Dawn Littlefield said.

“It’s exciting to have both political parties in the county come together to help a great local organization like the Kishwaukee United Way,” said Mark Pietrowski Jr., DeKalb County Democratic Party chair.

To play, Democrats should email markpietrowski@gmail.com and Republicans should email skuhnsycamore@aol.com. Players are asked to donate or contribute at least $25 for the United Way.
