Woodstock-based Conserv FS purchased the energy products division of Hintzsche Fertilizer June 1, according to the DeKalb County Farm Bureau.
Conserv FS hired seven full-time and one part-time Hintzsche Oil employees as part of the purchase. Hintzsche customers should see little change as the same sales and delivery staff will continue to service accounts under the new name.
Maple Park-based Hintzsche Fertilizer is refocusing on its core business of agronomy products and services, according to the farm bureau. Conserv FS counts energy products as one of its core products, with $88.4 million in petroleum product sales in 2012. Hintzsche sold about $16.8 million in petroleum products last year.
