May 31 is World No Tobacco Day
The DeKalb County Health Department supports the annual “World No Tobacco Day” on Friday, May 31.
Tobacco use is one of the leading preventable causes of death. The global tobacco epidemic kills nearly 6 million people each year – more than 600,000 of those are people exposed to secondhand smoke.
“Quitting smoking is one of the most important things that people can do to improve their health,” said Jane Lux, DeKalb County Health Department public health administrator.
