Interfaith Network recognizes student volunteer
DeKALB – At a small gathering on May 5, the DeKalb Interfaith Network for Peace and Justice honored graduating Northern Illinois University Law School student Kevin Zickterman for his help with programs on campus during the past year.
In presenting a certificate of appreciation, network treasurer Ric Amesquita spoke of Zickterman’s leadership in the law school’s chapter of Amnesty International and his contribution to network programs.
“Because of his invaluable help, important information about our nation’s questionable use of drones and about the dangers posed by nuclear power plants – one of which is only 39 miles from DeKalb – were brought to the attention of the students, faculty, staff, as well as to the general public,” Amesquita said.
