Y hires new aquatics director

SYCAMORE – The Kishwaukee Family YMCA has hired Lesley Webster as the new aquatics director. She brings more than eight years of experience in aquatics programs and leadership. Webster comes from Two Rivers YMCA, where her responsibilities included conducting ongoing training, safety adherence, member engagement, instructing swim lessons and water fitness classes for children, adults and seniors and parent/tot programs.

Webster has a bachelor’s degree in business marketing from Liberty University. She has more than 20 years of customer service experience in industries such as hospitality, nonprofit and retail.

Webster has had responsibilities at the YMCA and elsewhere including donor development, newsletter and brochure publication, design and implementation of publicity initiatives, public speaking and group leadership.

She has planned and coordinated fundraising events and activities, maintained websites, created print publications and press releases, secured corporate and personal donors and recruited volunteers. Webster is a certified Red Cross Lifeguard instructor.

Webster brings lots of new ideas to the local Y. The Kishwaukee YMCA is especially inspired by her ideas for recruiting, her creativity for the monthly in-service meetings and team-building activities within the aquatics department.
