The site is one of several sites across the country teaching children about space exploration, founded to honor the Challenger astronauts. The class conducted a "space mission," with half at "mission control" and the other half in "space." During their "mission" they discovered a new comet they named after their teacher.Photo providedCaptionMore than 40 people attended a soup and chili cook-off March 23 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of DeKalb. The event was coordinated by Terri Mann-Lamb, owner of Sunn Flower Gourmet Catering. Nine members of the congregation entered soups and chilis in the event. The meal was combined with a family game night. Awards, donated by Nathan Winston, were given in the categories of best soup, best chili and best overall.
