Library’s new computer on wheels needs a name

Published: Tuesday, April 16, 2013 11:17 a.m. CDT

DeKALB – National Library Week kicked off an exciting contest at the DeKalb Public Library. The e-book librarian, Jodi Sapita, has moved down to the lower level of the library. She will still be available for all patrons both young and old. Sapita will use the library’s new computer on wheels (C.O.W). Youth Services reference staff will use the C.O.W. to make themselves more available to assist patrons.

However, the library’s C.O.W. needs a name, and this is where the fun begins. Naming slips are located at the Youth Services desk in the lower level, where children can write a suggested name and see the nameless C.O.W. Suggestions will be taken until Friday, May 3, and a winner will be announced on Monday, May 6. A panel of four library staff members will choose the winning name. The patron whose suggestion is chosen will win a gift card to Sunshine Scoop Shoppe & Bakery.
