Housing authority adds apartment complex
DeKALB – The DeKalb County Housing Authority has acquired Briarwood Apartments, a 48-unit multi-family apartment complex on more than three acres of land just off Bethany Road, according to a news release.
Briarwood Apartments consists of six two-story red brick buildings on a cul-de-sac, with a landscaped interior courtyard and one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Each unit includes a fully-applianced kitchen, central air, laundry hookup and either a balcony or bay window, the release said. There is a playground and parking includes assigned covered carports.
The complex was built in 1994 as a Low Income Tax Credit Development. It is considered an affordable complex with income guidelines, and the housing authority said it is “consistent with the Authority’s mission of providing safe, decent and affordable housing opportunities.”
