MAPLE PARK – The Kaneland Youth Soccer Organization is accepting registrations for spring recreational soccer through Jan. 30. Families can register online at www.kanelandyouthsoccer.com.
KYSO is open to boys and girls ages 4 to 17 in Big Rock, Elburn, Hinckley, Kaneville, Maple Park, Sugar Grove and Virgil. KYSO has about 50 recreational teams that teach young players soccer in a positive and fun environment, using smaller teams and fields to maximize participation. Fun is emphasized over winning, and every child is guaranteed to play at least three quarters.
The spring season runs from April 13 until May 18 and includes six games. Games and practices are held next to Kaneland High School in Maple Park.
Registration fees are $85 for the first child, $65 for each additional child from the same family and include jersey, shorts and socks. Fees also pay for end-of-season trophies and certified referees.
A $20 volunteer fee is added to the registration of the first child from each family to help offset league costs. This fee can be refunded to parents who coach, participate on the KYSO board or take on other volunteer roles during the season. Email email@example.com for details.
KYSO also offers The Outreach Program for Soccer for players with special needs. TOPSoccer is a national program to train young people with disabilities in soccer.
