'Reduce Your Stroke Risk'

Cardiologist Paul Nguyen, MD, MS and nurse practitioner Magdalena Kloch, APN, will explore the factors contributing to stroke risk and preventative steps you can take. Heart-healthy meal will be provided at 6 p.m. This program is free, but registration is required and closes three days before the program date.


'Learning to Live Peaceably'

Place: Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of DeKalb, 158 N. Fourth St.

After a community potluck, a panel of speakers will discuss ways to end violence, including, but not limited to, gun violence. Speakers include DeKalb County State's Attorney Richard Schmack, DeKalb Police Chief Gene Lowery, Maylan Dunn-Kenney, a professor of early education, and Dr. Toni Tollerud of the Northern Illinois University Education and Counseling Department.


'Rotator Cuff Tears'

Time: 6:30 – 8 p.m.

Rotator cuff tears are a common cause of pain and disability. Orthopedic surgeons will explain the difference between acute and chronic tears and will discuss treatment options. Registration is required and closes three days before the program date.
