Dance co. pays homage to 'Peanuts'

DeKALB – StudioM Dance Company will present “Parading with the Peanuts Gang,” an original dance production featuring Charles Schulz’s beloved Peanuts characters, at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21 at Boutell Memorial Concert Hall on the campus of Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.

“I have wanted to do this show for many years,” said Lisa Morreale, owner and artistic director of StudioM. “The Peanuts characters have been a part of so many childhoods and are still a tradition in many homes today.”

Taking on the lead roles are Maddi Hoth of DeKalb as Charlie Brown, Abby Goldman of Sycamore as Lucy, Johnna Rohlman of DeKalb as Linus, Abbey Brooks of DeKalb as Sally, Sophie Hoth of DeKalb as Snoopy, Lexi Salapatek of Cortland as Woodstock, Izi Myers-Miller of DeKalb as Peppermint Patty, Annie Tyrrell of DeKalb as Marcy, Elizabeth Warner of DeKalb as Pig Pen and Kelsie Kruskol of Sycamore as Schroeder.

Other soloists include Hannah Haak of Kirkland as the Little Red-haired Girl, Alison Morreale of DeKalb as Rerun, Alex Rangel of DeKalb as Joe Cool, Sam Myers-Miller of DeKalb as the Red Baron, Courtney Donnelly of DeKalb as the Cat Next Door, Kaitlin Seiner of DeKalb as Shermy, Kailey Davidson of Elburn as Frieda, Cheyanne Morgan of Sycamore as Violet and Kallie Siebrasse of DeKalb as Peggy Jean.

Kaitlin Hailey and Taelynn Rodeghero, both of DeKalb, will have featured performances during the show as well. Several types of dance will be showcased as each StudioM class is featured as elements from the story.
