The free Illinois Snowmobile Education Course consists of a minimum of eight hours of instruction in maintenance, repair and safe operation of snowmobiles, the history of snowmobiling, first aid, protecting the environment and state laws regulating snowmobiles. Youth snowmobilers are required to have a safety certificate to snowmobile in Illinois and surrounding states. Children 10 and older are welcome to attend the course, but they will not receive a safety certificate until their 12th birthday. Lunch will be provided by the G.K. Trailblazers.
