Mental health group receives grant

DeKALB – The Consumer Advocacy Council of DeKalb County serves DeKalb County residents who have serious and persistent mental illnesses and are destitute. The main functions of the CACDC are to provide grants to these residents grants to help with rent, utilities, food and personal needs and to educate the public on mental health issues. The CACDC hosts monthly educational presentations at 3:45 p.m. on the last Wednesday of the month at Reality House, 631 S. First St. DeKalb, IL. at 3:45PM. Since it was founded in 1999, the CACDC has hosted 122 presenters, including professors, social workers and government officials. The public is invited to attend.
