Live music for bookstore shoppers

DeKALB – More than 60 musicians with the Northern Illinois University Community School of the Arts will perform at Barnes & Noble in DeKalb from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. The recital is part of the Book Fair program sponsored by the store. Money raised will be used to support the scholarship programs of the community school.

When shoppers use store-provided vouchers when making their purchases at the store or online, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the community school for scholarships. More than 700 students have received scholarships since the community school began offering them in 1993.

The NIU Community School of the Arts offers music lessons and classes in music, art and theater to people of all ages. For more information, visit csa.niu.edu or call 815-753-1450.
