Christmas in Kirkland Dec. 1

KIRKLAND – The Greater Kirkland Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Christmas in Kirkland from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Alpine Bank in Kirkland.

Santa will be at the bank to pose for pictures with children. He will arrive at 9 a.m. by horse-drawn wagon; the wagon will be available for free rides. Holiday refreshments will be available. The Hiawatha Schools band and chorus will provide holiday music during the festivities.

At 10 a.m., awards will be presented to children from Hiawatha Elementary School with winning artwork and essays. A $25 prize will be given to a winner at each grade level. Prizes will also be awarded in the village’s holiday lights contest.
