Mansion's holiday decor festive, elegant

DeKALB – The Ellwood House Mansion is lavishly decorated for the holidays by individuals, businesses and clubs from throughout the community. Christmas sights, sounds and smells create a total sensory experience.

Visitors to the mansion’s holiday celebration will enjoy history and art exhibits, browse the museum shop for unique items and taste refreshments in the Visitor Center. For many local families, a visit to the elegantly-furnished home of 19th-century barbed wire baron Isaac Ellwood is a holiday tradition.

Businesses and organizations decorating the mansion this year include Altrusa International of DeKalb/Sycamore, Brandie Barrett, Cracker Jax, DeKalb Area Garden Club, Designs by Muffin, Ellwood Explorers, Finishing Touches Interiors, Kishwaukee College Floral Design class, Kohl’s Department Store, The National Bank & Trust, OC Imageworks, Resource Bank and Target.
