Living centers acquires therapy robot

SHABBONA – After two years of fundraising efforts, Shabbona Living Centers announced the arrival of Stella, a therapeutic robot which has been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most effective therapeutic pet of its kind.

While similar robots have visited local nursing homes, Shabbona Living Centers is the only long-term care community in Illinois to be fortunate enough to permanently acquire this state-of-the-art  technology.

Stella was introduced to staff, residents and the community at events throughout the late summer and fall, including at an open house attended by more than 200 people.
