Post-election: What happens now?
DeKALB – The voters have had their say – now what lies ahead?
Rick Pearson, the political writer for the Chicago Tribune, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, in the lower level staff lounge at Founders Memorial Library, on Normal Road in DeKalb, about the 2012 election. This presentation is free to the public and sponsored by the Friends of NIU Libraries.
An award-winning journalist, Pearson has spent more than three decades reporting on Illinois government and politics and has traveled the country covering presidential elections for the Tribune. He covered both of George W. Bush's campaigns and the 2004 Democratic primary. In 2007, he was one of the first reporters to arrive in Iowa for the 2008 election caucuses, and spent the next 18 months covering candidates in both parties. He has covered the Democratic and Republican national conventions for the past seven election cycles.
