CLC honors caregivers
DeKALB — Children’s Learning Center, a private not-for-profit day care center, held its annual meeting Oct. 16. The board of directors elected Jeffrey Myles as president, Katherine Gannon, vice president; Vicki Maertz, secretary and Scott R. Erwin, treasurer.
Child care quality is linked to caregiver experience, and the CLC board of directors honors staff members for every five years of employment at the center. This year, Tracie Maillet and Wendy Wakeland received 10-year awards, Lynn Kohley a 25-year award and Ken Rodd a 35-year award.
Outgoing President Diane Lizer conferred President’s Awards on Martha Maxstadt and Nicole Berns as this year’s distinguished staff members.
