Sycamore starts music hall of fame
SYCAMORE – The Sycamore Music Boosters has launched a new program, the Sycamore High School Music Hall of Fame. This awards program will honor and recognize SHS alumni and music advocates who have demonstrated superior participation in or support for Sycamore music programs.
The hall of fame includes four categories of awards to recognize the different ways alumni and the community contribute to the music programs' standards of excellence.
The Ovation Award is for SHS alumni who demonstrated superior performance and participation in music in their high school careers.
The Legacy Award is for alumni who met the qualifications for the Ovation Award and continued to demonstrate superior involvement in music after graduation, through education and professional or volunteer activities.
The Advocate Award is for an individual who has proven to be an outstanding advocate for Sycamore School District music programs.
The Distinguished Alumni Award will be awarded to an alum who demonstrated superior participation in music during their high school career, and after graduation established a record of truly distinguished and exceptional performance, service or achievement in their vocation or avocation.
Nominations for the first hall of fame class are now being accepted. The nomination deadline is Nov. 15. For more information and a nomination form, visit www.sycamoremusicboosters.com or email boosters president Ken Olson at email@example.com.
