Golf outing supports special ed

DeKALB – Northern Illinois University football head coach Dave Doeren and Jeff Dobie, owner of Fatty’s Pub and Grille in DeKalb, announced a donation of $10,000 each to the DeKalb and Sycamore school districts, to support special needs programs at the schools.

The $20,000 donation was raised through a joint charity golf outing, Huskies Fore Hope, and through the sale of paintings donated by artist John Bukaty of Kartma.com.

Huskies Fore Hope doubled last year’s donation to the schools. With the help of Bukaty, a New Orleans artist and one of Doeren’s high school classmates, additional funds were raised for the donation.
