Marching Barbs headed for the Sugar Bowl

DeKALB – The DeKalb High School Marching Band has been invited to participate in the Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans on Jan. 2. The students are excited to represent their school at the Louisiana  Superdome at one of the largest sporting events of the holiday season.

Various fundraisers are helping students defray the cost of participating in this event. They have been selling Value Cards and items from a fundraising catalog, and the DeKalb Music Boosters are planning a Cajun Kick-Off to help.

The Cajun Kick-Off will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at DeKalb High School and will include entertainment, a Cajun dinner, a raffle and an auction. All proceeds will help fund the Marching Barbs’ trip to New Orleans.
