Nonprofits team up for pie sale

Pay-It-Forward House in Sycamore has partnered with the Joseph F. Glidden Homestead & Historical Center in DeKalb for a Market Day holiday pie and dessert fundraiser.

“If we sell 500 or more pies, the profits we raise for our cause jump to 45 percent, so of course we want 500 to be our minimum goal,” said Kathy Overby, board member and pie sale chairwoman at Pay-It-Forward House. “But this is a lot of pies to sell for a small organization. Partnering with Glidden Homestead in DeKalb is the perfect collaboration for this fundraiser.”

Overby has been the driving force behind the pie sale fundraiser since she brought the idea to the Pay-It-Forward House board seven years ago.
