4-H'ers can apply for grant

Illinois 4-H members 15 to 18 years of age have an opportunity to take their 4-H career to a higher level through the Clover Challenge Grant program. DuPont Pioneer and the Illinois Soybean Association are each offering up to five $500 scholarships to older 4-H members interested in researching a topic related to corn, soybeans or small grains. This research can be related to an agronomic, human nutrition or animal science and nutrition topic of interest.

Selected participants will choose an adult mentor other than a parent or guardian to discuss their ideas and solicit advice and guidance as they develop an action plan for conducting their research. Participants will be expected to design at least two different delivery methods to publicize their research results. These methods can include, but are not limited to, a public presentation, flier, brochure, video, Facebook page or YouTube video.

The grant program is open to current 4-H members who are 15 to 18 years of age as of Sept. 1 and have completed all levels of 4-H projects within the areas listed above.
