Mansion becomes temporary gallery
DeKALB – From Oct. 19 through Dec. 9, the Ellwood House Museum Visitors Center will host an exhibition of work by 21 artists who are regular exhibitors on dekalbgallery.com, an online fine art gallery.
An opening reception for the exhibit will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21.
DeKalb Gallery was created by Dan Grych in 2000 to bring visual arts to the DeKalb community. The number of featured artists grew from the original 12 to as many as 90 showing their work at any given time on a consignment basis. Literally hundreds of artists were represented between 2000 and 2008 in solo and group exhibitions that even included high school art students. The art venue reached talents from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Sycamore and the greater northern Illinois area.
