Ballet company hosts fundraiser

The Sycamore Ballet will hold its annual Fall Festival fundraiser Oct. 20.

SYCAMORE – The Sycamore Performing Arts Academy will host its third annual Sycamore Ballet Company fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20.

Artistic Director Jodi Riley founded the Sycamore Ballet, a small not-for-profit performance group and competition team, in 2006 with the intention of giving her students the opportunity to participate in additional performances and expand their dance education beyond the realm of the studio.

In the six years since its establishment, Sycamore Ballet Company members have participated in more than 20 performances, attended several conventions/competitions and master dance classes and have volunteered at numerous community events. These opportunities are made possible in part through fundraising.

One of the largest fundraisers is the Fall Festival. This action-packed event appeals to children and adults of all ages. Spend the afternoon dancing, playing, learning and creating.  Tickets for children ages 3 to 10 are $10 and include a dance class, craft, dance games, popcorn and hot chocolate. Adult tickets will be $10 and include a Barre/Pilates class, nail designs, 10-minute updos and neck/shoulder massage. Adult tickets are half price with the purchase of a child admission.

The Fall Festival will be held at the Sycamore Performing Arts Academy, 504 N. Main St. in Sycamore. Tickets may be purchased at the studio from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday or by phone at 815-899-1307. Contact the studio by Oct. 18 to reserve your spot and get a full schedule of events.
