DeKALB – A performance by the Smelser Family Quartet – violinists Genevieve Smelser and Ann Montzka-Smelser and cellists Benjamin and Linc Smelser – highlighted the Kishwaukee Symphony Associates’ annual membership event on Sept. 23 at the Nehring House. The event benefitted the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra.

This was the last KSO concert season opening co-hosted by Shirley Nehring, as she has donated her historic home to the Ellwood House Association. However, she has asked that the Ellwood House Association carry on the tradition.
