Grandparents group talks Social Security

DeKALB – DeKalb attorney Stephanie Malone will address the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren group at its Oct. 11 meeting.

Malone will talk about benefits through Social Security and Supplemental Security Income available for low-income children who meet the government definition for disability, and how to obtain those benefits.

All grandparents involved in raising a grandchild are welcome at the group’s meetings, held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at the DeKalb Senior Center, 333 Grove St. in DeKalb. The group offers speakers and the chance to receive support and advice from peers facing the same situations.
