Cancer discussion at Mothers & More

DeKALB – Did you know that 60 percent of cancers are preventable through lifestyle choices? Local moms are invited to attend a social and educational  program on the topic of cancer detection and prevention at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, in the community room of the Ben Gordon Center, 12 Health Services Drive in DeKalb.

This presentation, led by Lauren Brandmeyer from The American Cancer Society, will offer information and tools to empower women to take care of themselves and their families. Brandmeyer will discuss steps to reduce the risk of cancer and major disease and will share what every woman should know about ovarian cancer.

The DeKalb County Chapter of Mothers & More offers a fun and social support network for local moms. The chapter offers monthly evening program events, moms' nights out, playgroups, family activities, online discussion forums and more.
