Church to bless pets

DeKALB – St. Paul’s Episcopal Church invites the public to bring their four-legged friends and other creatures to a pet blessing celebration at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at 900 Normal Road in DeKalb.

The Pet Blessing is traditionally celebrated near the first Sunday in October, on the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, who was known for his affection toward animals of all kinds. The public is invited to bring pets for a celebration of their life, as well as a personal blessing from the Rev. Stacy Walker-Frontjes. Pets of all kinds are welcome to attend. Pets who prefer not to travel can be represented with photographs.
