Run for Hiawatha improvements

KIRKLAND – The Kirkland Hiawatha Schools Foundation/Friends of Hiawatha will hold the third annual 4K Road Race & Fun Run/Walk at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at Hiawatha High School in Kirkland. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m.

This fun, family-oriented event will raise funds for the school’s building improvements. Awards will be presented to the top finishers in their divisions, and the first 80 entrants will receive commemorative T-shirts designed by Hiawatha senior Kristina Elmore. Pre-race registration is open and costs $20 per runner and $10 per additional family member. Race day registration is available for $25 per runner. Entry forms are available at  www.friendsofhiawatha.webs.com, under the Friends of Hiawatha tab on teacherweb.com/IL/HiawathaSchools/DistrictHomePage/SDHP1.stm or through the Friends of Hiawatha on Facebook.

The 4K race is 2.49 miles and will start and end at Hiawatha High School. Runners and walkers will enjoy the fast, flat course. For questions and sponsorship information, contact Mary Jo Downen at 708-278-4179.
